Introduction - Hannah Stanicki For the Instruments & Measurements Lab, we learned how to use a variety of different instruments to understand the concept of precision. We learned how to read a vernier calliper to determine the inside diameter and depth and how to use a micrometer to effectively measure the glass plate and the sphere. II. Theory - Olivia Pacyna Before using the more precise measuring tools, it was essential to set the tool to 0 and determine its zero correction. After measuring the different objects three times each, we came about the average of the three measurments for the uncorrected resultant number using the equation: (a+b+c) / 3 . For the corrected number, we first had to add the zero correction to the final measurment. And for the deviation number, we used the
