Week 6 Discussions & Learning Activities Discussion #2 What competencies are needed today that were not needed ten years ago for HR professionals because now we are a global economy? Use a minimum of two references from the class materials. You do not need to interact with another colleague The human resource profession has been around for at least a century. In recent years, the field’s leaders have dramatically advanced the function by transforming their roles into trusted business advisers, skillful change managers and consultants proficient in technology and artificial intelligence (Patton, 2018). Like others before them, these colleagues are raising standards for the necessary skills and capabilities of HR leadership. Nevertheless, they believe that personnel department executives can never neglect their primary role. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
