Nutritional Considerations o What should the nurse assess first when speaking to the patient about the nutritional needs? o Are vegan patients able to have healthy pregnancies? o What vitamins, minerals and other nutritional elements are important for the patient to consume during the pregnancy? How can the patient alter her eating habits to decrease the chance of nausea during pregnancy? She states that she has a baby born at 21 weeks that didn’t survive and had an 10 week abortion at the age of 18. Her last menstrual period was 8/5/2018. 1
