Case 13DA pilot goes in for a routine physical, his doctor discovers that he has developed aheart murmur. The pilot is set to retire vey soon, his doctor knows this and wonders ifgiven the circumstances if she is justified in withholding this information. The parties involved include the pilot, and his doctor. The moral issue is whether or not the doctor would be justified in withholdinginformation the pilot’s heart murmur, in hopes of not altering his plans forretirement. While she probably means well, the physician would be very much wrong if she heldthis information back. If she so chose to withhold her findings, essentially lying shewould be using herself simply as a means to an end, his end being retirement.Potentially endangering not only the pilot but anyone who would be a passenger orserve as a crew-member on any of his flights. By the deontological theory I feel that itwould fail to hold up, all things considered and deducting the possible consequences
