1. What are Mary Lou and Rob’s strengths? Mary has been consistent in coming for appointments, BP checks, and labs. She is excited about her pregnancy and has several sources of support. She has begun preparing early and seems to be at a good place in her life to have children. 2. What are your concerns about Mary Lou and Rob during her pregnancy? I’m concerned about the fact she’s taking aspirin. I’m also concerned about her risk of falls. Her history of stroke is another key fact to consider. 3. What is the cause of your concern(s) during her pregnancy? Salicylates can be detrimental to both mother and fetus. Alternate anticoagulants are available. Mary Lou already has an altered gait because of her left sided weakness. As her center of balance shifts, it could be harder for her to adapt to the changes. Her history of stroke could increase her risk of developing preeclampsia. 4. What additional information do you need or wish you had?
