The code of ethics was created for a sole purpose to serve as a guideline for the standard of health care expected of all health care providers. The code of ethics assists in helping health care professionals take the appropriate steps to ensuring that all levels of care are decided with compassion, honesty, and security for the patient. Employees and staff members should comply with the organization's code of ethics, which includes compassionate care; an understanding and acceptance of the organization's mission, vision, and values (Deveaux, 2006).
