C489 TASK 3 HEALTHCARE FINANCING2C489 Task 3 Healthcare FinancingUnited States just recently mandated that everyone must have insurance or pay a penalty if you don’t have insurance. If you are unemployed you can qualify for Medicaid. If you are a child you could qualify for FAMIS, and if you are retired and age 65 or older you could qualify for Medicare. With each of these plans there are other stipulations also but those are the main “qualifiers”. Much of the United States population is covered with private insurance obtained via employment, but 26% is covered by public health insurance which is Medicare and Medicaid. (Ridic, Gleason, & Ridic, 2012). In Germany everyone there must have statutory health insurance provided that their gross earnings are under a fixed limit, if you make more thanthat amount you can opt for your own private insurance.
