Course Objectives This course aims to introduce how to use the different statistical software applications. Specifically, you must be able to develop the following skills: create and manage datasets for analysis; compute for descriptive statistics; create and edit tables and graphical presentations; perform different statistical tests such as z-test, t-test, and one-way ANOVA; compute correlation of variables and perform simple linear regression; perform simple forecasting using classical techniques; interpret the statistical outputs. Course Prerequisites Stat 115/101/Equivalent. Basic Statistical Methods/Elementary Statistics You must already be familiar with the following concepts that were discussed in Basic Statistical Methods/Elementary Statistics: presentation of data (tabular, graphical) measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) measures of location (percentiles, deciles, quartiles) measures of dispersion (variance, standard deviation, range, IQR, CV) measures of skewness and kurtosis exploratory data analysis (box-and-whiskers plot, stem-and-leaf display) inferences on population mean and proportion inferences on two population means and proportions one-way ANOVA Chi-square test for Independence
