Misky SaladCWV-101 March 15th, 2019Curtis Blocker, Joel Johnson Benchmark - Gospel EssentialsChristianity is a highly known religion that is practiced across the world. There are many different aspects that are combined to make up the religious Christian worldview such as being loving, caring, living a Godly life, and accepting all. There are four essential elements of the Christian worldview which play an important role in understanding Christianity; God, Humanity,Jesus, and Restoration. God the creator of the universe and all of humanity. Having faith in God and living graciously are very important principles of the Christian worldview in which God allows for forgiveness because he knows no one is righteous. Jesus’ resurrection on the crucifix was the ultimate sacrifice as an atonement. His sacrifice allowed for sins to be forgiven as long as there is faith in the name of Christ. Christianity allows for an accepting, guided, and fulfilled life. A life that should be loved, lived with purpose, and cared for all while entrusting Him through faith.God topic 2God is often referred to as the Trinitarian. The Trinity is the name that describes the relationship of one God in three persons “Trinity(one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the deity of Jesus Christ, and Jesus’ resurrection from the dead” (Diffey, 2016, para. 1). In the Christian worldview, it is important to understand certain beliefs such as, God existing as one being. These beliefs are referred to as first-1
order points of doctrine. God’s character can be described through his attributes. There aremany attributes of God. God is a creator, God is transcendent, immanent, immutable, self-existent, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, and God exists as one being. Ex nihilo is a term that means out of nothing. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made (John 1:3 KJV). God created the universe out of nothing, and everything known to man. God is the creator of heaven and earth where he separated lightness from darkness. God is loving, sovereign, and the creator of all existence. Humanity topic 3Humanity was created by God to live a life to become like God, but then it was corruptedby sin and temptation. The original sin was the fall which corrupted all. The original sin defines human nature. The fall was an act of rebellion that changed human nature. The original sin lead to temptation when Eve ate the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The serpent represented Satan which tempted Adam and eve to eat the apple of the true. Both Adam and eve had knowledge of what was right and wrong, but Eve gave into temptation. Instead of Adam and Eve becoming like God they separated themselves from God and that is what describes sin.
