I did not have any familiarity with the case before, andtherefore, there were no pre-judgments when watching the documentary, including the subjectsinvolved in the case. Nonetheless, I can state that I have a robust opinion regarding the issue ofcapital punishment as a sentence for a crime. From the documentary, it is lucid that politics caninfluence the justice system either negatively or positively. In my opinion, capital punishment is the wrong sentence for any crime. I firmly believethat capital punishment is the inhumane way of punishing crime, no matter the magnitude of thecrime committed. My position is explained by my admiration for the European justice system.According to (Dünkel 9), most countries in Europe have justice systems that are morerehabilitation-oriented than the one we have in the United States.
