Discussions of global warming are a topic of media outlet discussions on nearly a daily basis. Corporate leaders must be acutely aware of the environmental impact their business have and how their actions will be perceived by the increasingly environmentally aware public. In some cases, negative consequences for the environment are beyond the control of leadership, however as a part of corporate social responsibility, these leaders must strive mitigate the effects of their operation to benefit their business as well as the environment (Cho, Soster, & Burton 2018, paragraph 8). Since the late 19 th century, the United States government has proactively enacting regulations in effort to reduce how businesses affect the environment.
