The assassination attempt onthe Fűhrer was carried out by senior class officers at the very pinnacle of German Might, withthe operation being the last of the fifteen attempts on Hitler’s life, that was planned by Germans.The documentaries that are being compared in this analysis are “Valkyrie, 2008 motion picture,directed by Bryan Singer, 120 min” and “Operation Valkyrie: Stauffenberg's Plot to Kill Hitler,2008, directed by Jean-Pierre Isbouts, 76 min.” In both these films the story was portrayed withsurprising accuracy to the historical event of Operation Valkyrie that occurred on July 20 1944.Operation Valkyrie: Stauffenberg’s Plot to Kill Hitleris a recount of the OperationValkyrie. The documentary starts intensely with a brief but attention grabbing introduction ofhow Stauffenberg’s plot unfolds into a huge explosion. Most Germans supported Hitler;even theresistance until 1938. Hitler was believed to be an invulnerable man. And because of conqueringcountries around Germany, and Germany’s pact with the Soviet Union,Hitler’s position wasnow unassailable. The first attempt on Hitler’s life was in 1939 when he traveled to Munich.After arriving there he presented the crowd with a short, colloquial speech, fearing he wouldmiss the train to Berlin, minutes after he left a bomb went off right behind where he wasstanding.There were many other resistances including the White Rose, which was found inMunich University.
