Academic and Professional Success PlanPrepared by:SHAREE FISHELNURS 6002: Foundations of Graduate Study
In developing a clear and precise path on the journey towards achieving my academic and professional goals, I have chosen four individuals that I believe I can learn from and will guide me through this journey. There are two academic individuals and two professional individuals that were selected. After thoroughly evaluating the criteria, I believe that networking and collaborating with these individuals will make me a more rounded scholar and professional.NETWORK MEMBER 1Name: Dr. Shripal ShrishrimalTitle: Pulmonologist/Critical Care MedicineOrganization: Butler Memorial HospitalAcademic or Professional: ProfessionalWhy I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and asa practicing nurse:Notes: I work alongside Dr. Shrishrimal in our Medical Intensive Care Unit. It is standard to perform an interdisciplinary care conference for each patient in the unit. There is collaboration between Dr. Shrishrimal and his partners with the other care teams. I am able to be a part of the networking and collaborating of care teams and other business that are consulting to care for the patients. Dr. Shrishrimal is an excellent instructor and frequently will pull up a radiology film to explain what the image is telling us regarding the patient’s condition and progress. He has committed to assist me in my journey of becoming a nurse practioner.NETWORK MEMBER 2Name: Shelly Milanovich CRNPTitle: CRNP – Acute Critical Care MedicineOrganization: Butler Memorial HospitalAcademic or Professional: Professional
Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and asa practicing nurse:Notes: Shelly uses evidence-based practice in her care for patients. She is never too busy to assist with the explanation of why she ordered certain test. She is always willing to sit down after an event and discuss the paths that we took in care, the reasons, and the alternative outcomes. She will be an excellent resource since she processes items analytically which is similar to how I process information. Shelly received her training from John-Hopkins University Hospital and is well versed on standards of care and being creative in caring for the patient to achieve the optimal outcome. NETWORK MEMBER 3Name: Alicia BrownTitle: Academic AdvisorOrganization: Walden UniversityAcademic or Professional: AcademicWhy I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and asa practicing nurse:Notes: The few times that I have had a conversation with Ms. Brown, I have felt that she relates to my ideas and thoughts. She was always very helpful with my questions and answers. I was able to confide in her withsome of the struggles of my new position in my current employment. Speaking with her made the struggles of working and managing life more trivial.
