AJ Garrigus February 14, 2008 English 101, Shabbat Narrative Essay I could hear their catcalls as I walked on stage with my mates. Though it wasn’t the cheers that musicians often dream of, I expected nothing less. They didn’t want us; they wanted who we were opening for. The fans have been waiting for an hour and a half already; they didn’t want to put up with us. However it was our responsibility and despite our band not being favored, it was still what we wanted to do. I wasn’t the most nervous out of the four of us. Being percussionist and occasional bassist, I wasn’t the one in the spot light. Drumming is what I do naturally and no matter how badly I zoned out I could play on beat and keep a nice rhythm. Then for the songs when I played bass, well, it’s not the loudest instrument it just acts as a nice accent. If I screw up it’s no big but if I play well you can tell and the songs sound a little better. However I went on stage not even knowing the set list. We never
