K-12 CLASSROOM GUIDANCE LESSON: IMPAIRED DRIVING (11 TH GRADE) LIBERTY UNIVERSITY
GOAL This classroom guidance lesson will become part of the 11 th grade driver’s education class. The overarching goal for this presentation will be to enhance the students’ awareness of the dangers of impaired driving.
LESSON OBJECTIVES ASCA Standard: A.1.h. Responsibility to Students – Provide effective, responsive interventions to address student needs (American School Counselor Association, 2016). Objective: To teach the effects of impaired driving (drunk driving) and the impact it can have on oneself and others. To identify strategies to deal with peer pressure. To teach the social and legal consequences of impaired driving.

LESSON OBJECTIVES Language Arts Standard: 11-12.RL.2.4 : Students are expected to build upon and continue applying concepts learned previously ( McCormick, 2014).
