Lit 232: Modern Literature Discussion Board Rubric Ongoing, 35% of Grade In a live classroom, discussions are the foundation of the course. We would read the text for the day and spend most of the class period discussing key topics and questions from the reading. This would allow you to share both your in-depth thoughts and spontaneous reactions to the text and other classmates. In an online course, we have the Discussion Board, which provides us with a forum where we can a) post carefully-thought-out reflections on the reading, and b) respond to each others’ responses. It’s not quite the back- and-forth of a classroom, but we should all strive for meaningful conversations. Unless there is a paper, I will set up a discussion forum each week. A typical forum will have one or two discussion questions based on the week’s reading. You will be expected to answer the question thoughtfully and respond to another classmate’s post by the end of the week.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
