UNIT VIII ESSAY 2 Introduction Chicago Food and Beverage Company is an American multinational organization expanding its business in other regions. This study will be focusing on the expatriate methods adopted by the company along with its results. The study will also be analyzing the key expatriate decisions taken by the company for determining its effectiveness. Staffing Framework with Characteristics and Advantages Ethnocentric staffing approach seems to be employed in the case study. In such a staffing approach, the employees of the parent company are filling the key positions of the new organization. The headquarters hold the power of taking all the key decisions along with the settling of objectives, mission, and vision requiring the host country to follow the same (Enderwick, 2011). The parent company controls and manages all the operations at the foreign offices from the top level. The main purpose of the parent company is to ensure the delivery of appropriate services from all of its offices. There is a wide range of benefits available for the parent company from this ethnocentric approach. The level of coordination between the parent and host company improves in a certain manner (Nakamura, 2001). It becomes much convenient for the parent company to transfer their cultural values, beliefs, and practices to the subsidiary company operating in a foreign country. The parent company owns and retains a positive control and balance over the subsidiary. The parent company can keep a close check over the performance of the subsidiary company ensuring to fulfill services as per its brand value (Petison & Johri, 2008). The parent company can transfer technical knowledge effectively. The parent company will no longer require well- developed local labor in the international market.
