CSM 702 INTERIM ASSIGNMENT #2 HOME CONSTRUCTION REVIEW The video is titled as “house documentary” and contains footage of two story residential house construction from beginning to the end. Even though every phase of construction is not shown in the video, major items of work can be watched here. Excavation is done at the very first part for the foundation followed by the pouring of concrete into the footings. Footings are concrete slabs where foundation walls are erected by poured concrete in the temporary wooden formwork. After the basement walls are erected, floor joist are laid and wood plank or ply wood is placed as sub floor material. I’m not sure whether it is wood plank, ply wood or oriented strand board is used there. Framing of wall is done but how it is attached with the sub-floor cannot be seen in the video. The frames are assembled on the ground and is erected later. Plumb, square and level work of walls is missing in the video.
