The NASW Code of Ethics (2008) explains that the job of the social worker is to promote reform through social justice (NASW, 2008, pg.5). Social workers must advocate for their clients who may suffer from poverty and a lack of resources/opportunity. I joined the field of social work because of my passion for supporting low-income communities and aiding the families and children that live there.
