Cloe Pothier 9/12/19 US History Face of Freedom 1.06 Cotton Question : Explain how freedoms for African Americans were socially, politically, and economically limited from 1865 to 1900? There was a lot of persecution towards African Americans during this time period in the late 1880s they were forced to face obstacles such as threats to the livelihood, and political, and economic freedoms. African Americans could rarely ever find jobs, let alone jobs that paid fairly. High-class jobs were out of the picture for them. They could only go to so many places and when they broke that rule, they were sent to prison. African Americans could not marry white people, go to the same schools, or most of the time even associate with them. African Americas had a hard time living their lives during the 1800s. Jim Crow laws placed discrimination against African Americans. African Americans in the south were prevented from using their new political rights,
