Nursing 202 Concept: Perfusion Exemplars: Cardiac Dysrhythmias, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Heart Failure (HF) Description: This module focuses on the concept of perfusion. This module is at the third semester level and will focus on the exemplars of cardiac dysthymias, MI, and HF. You will continue to build on your knowledge on this concept utilizing these exemplars. You will also see the relationship of how oxygenation affects perfusion. Definition: The process of the delivery of fluid nutrients and oxygen to the cells Application Activity: An application activity will be assigned. Content TBD. Due date TBD. Class Preparation: Must prepare for class by reading chapters listed below in references. Class Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and collaborative care of clients with MI, HF, and cardiac dysrhythmias. 2. Apply evidence based research to improve client outcomes with MI, HF, and dysrhythmias (SLO 1.1) 3. Describe the cultural, gender, and ethnic health disparities for clients with MI and HF (SLO 4.2) 4. Discuss the use of informatics in the care for clients with dysrhythmias (SLO 2.3) 5. Apply the nursing process and standards to safely manage clients and to promote health and wellness with MI, HF, and cardiac dysrhythmias. 6. Discuss methods to reduce physical and environmental hazards in the health care setting with the health care team to promote client safety with clients that have MI, HF, and cardiac dysrhythmias (SLO 5.2). 7. Apply the needed client and family education in the care of the client with MI, HF, and cardiac dysrhythmias (SLO 3.1) 8. Explain the importance of and method for empowering the client and their family with HF, MI, and cardiac dysthymias (SLO 7.2) 9. Identify nursing diagnoses for clients with MI, HF, and cardiac dysrhythmias.
