2 This is a part of a process that I do daily with the job that I have doing rework on transmissions. It is the process of dissembling and reassembling a transmission is simple, yet hard at the same time. It takes an average of ninety to one-hundred minutes from starting to tear down to the finished product. There are several different types of transmissions I do daily. However, I am only going to explain one transmission. The transmission I am going to explain is a two-wheel-drive Honda. I consider this to be the easiest transmission to work on. There is only one thing that needs to be replaced on this specific transmission internally which, is the input shaft. The very first step is to pick a transmission off the pallet. Take all the stickers that are not needed off. Unscrew the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) that is on the side of the transmission, and make sure that you don’t drop on the ground. If it drops to the ground, it is scrap. We will not be able to use it, due to contamination. Lift the transmission with a hoist. Move it to the rack where the work space is. Lock the transmission onto the rack and double check the lock to make sure it is secured. Scan the transmission into the Torque System on the computer. The Torque System is a program that has the detail for the transmission that you picked up from the pallet. It has all the torque specifications for that specific transmission.
