2 REDACTION IN HEALTH RECORDS Redaction refers to removing sensitive information on a document before publication or releasing the information to the public or any other destination. It involves framing or removing some text in a document before its release. In the health sector, redaction refers to removing sensitive patient information such as name or address prior publications of these records. The main objective of redaction in the health sector is to make health records anonymous. This is an important part of health record management because it keeps sensitive information of the patient private and at the same time, providing health information the government and other health stakeholders are used in decision making ( Akinmeji, Allen, Chung & Salmon, 2018). In modern healthcare, patients' record-keeping is transforming from a traditional tethered domain into electronic health records. This has helped in delivering patient records at the point of care hence efficiently managing the healthcare system. However, this modern electronic healthcare record poses a security threat in these to the patients whose sensitive data have been kept by the health facility ( McDermott, Kamerer & Birk, 2019) . These make redaction of confidential information in the records necessary. Patient records are redacted according to user credentials. All the information that can identify the patient to a third party should be redacted.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
