My post: Econ Inflation and unemployment fall 2019 Module 4 1. Analyze the situation occurring. The situation occurring is a lack of long-haul drivers in the US. This is a serious problem as our country relies heavily on long-haul drivers to supply goods. Despite the companies adding incentives they are still seeing shortages of drivers. They are unable to keep up with the demand for truckers in the US due to the fact of the goods being shipped via trucks has increased. While the economy is an expansion, our incomes are also increasing. As we’ve seen this increases the demand for goods, which in turn increases the need of supply. This has a ripple effect that increases the need for shipping and increases the demand of truck drivers. However, in the beginning of the article I noticed the company is trying to make the job more inclusive, and less aggravating. They are also trying to recruit drivers who don’t fit the prior generations truck driver stereotype, while also trying to make the job easier and increasing pay. It was also pointed out while they did increase pay, they are actually making less than drivers did back in the 1980’s, due to inflation. Having the “veteran truck drivers” annoyed with the new bells and whistles makes me wonder if they are retiring, causing an even bigger demand for drivers. Despite the trucking companies trying to protect their employees by holding companies they supply accountable for holding up their drivers, this has not helped decrease their need for drivers.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
