Dr. Van Note English 1401 Sept. 13, 2016 Written Slang vs. Spoken Slang There are many subtle differences in the slang of the written and spoken languages, these subtle differences make it either easier or harder for someone to understand the context. Typically, people can understand the informal way of speaking a lot easier than they can that of the formal version. They can also understand the slang way of communication through texting and written language easier than they can that of the formal written language. With written language and spoken language, spoken slang is easier to comprehend and is faster than the written slang is to respond to; also some people can understand the slang of the spoken language easier than they can the formal one, this way can also go along with the written language. The written language and the spoken language have 2 different versions of slang, slang is the use of a type of language that consists of words and phrases that are regarded as very informal, it is more common in speech than writing.
