In order to find the right keywords, you need to do some prewriting. Prewriting Begin with a general topic and narrow toward your emphasis or argument. Select One of these Broad Topics to Begin Researching: Time Management Setting Goals Higher-Level Thinking Test-Taking Skills Locating Keywords What five keywords can you think of based on what you already know about this topic? Hint: The general term/phrase listed above should be included as one of your five keywords List the keywords or phrases, separated by commas What stance or argument are you interested in pursuing about this topic? This information will give you additional search parameters What are you hoping to find regarding your topic? What synonyms or different phrasing can you use? Consider using a thesaurus or finding keywords / phrases from the results of your initial searches List synonyms or additional phrasing, again separated by commas. Locating Sources Overview : You will locate and evaluate an article for a pretend research paper. While you will not need to write an actual paper , you will need to demonstrate your ability to conduct a search on the Jerry Falwell Library website and evaluate articles for quality and credibility. You will need to find one (1) article to review for this assignment, explain how you found it, determine its credibility, and use it ethically. Begin using your search terms to look for sources in the JFL Databases.
