Sexism and gender inequality are two of the most questionable subjects in our contemporary period. Most of us is associating it with a social and psychology analysis. But the roots of this dilemma can be found in religion, which is a form of social consciousness that reflects natural and moral realities. Beginning with Adam and Eve, the gender bias is discussed in order to determine what role they were given as the primary human representatives. Can they be seen equal as the unique individuals of different genders or not? For this reason, the question can be considered a personal reflection about such matters as morality and integrity. As a result, Michelangelo’s works are seen as the most representative depictions on this subject as they symbolize the transposition of the words from Genesis into art. The book of Genesis is the book of beginnings where are found the origins of time, life, earth and human race. The initial event in the gender duality starts with Adam, who was made from dust of the ground, and Eve, who was made from Adam’s ribs. In Genesis, before Eve’s creation, God was stating her role of a helper for Adam, which was supposed to take care of the garden. In this way, her gender inferiority should be well enough explained. But the expression of “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh” from the Book of Genesis could be a revelation about the equality of those two individuals.
