1/24/2019 QUIZ (10): Turner/Zambia -- DUE by WED OCT 31 @ 12 NOON: FA18: RELS-122 Sec 81 - Magic Science Reli 1/18 QUIZ (10): Turner/Zambia -- DUE by WED OCT 31 @ 12 NOON Due Oct 31, 2018 at 12pm Points 25 Questions 25 Time Limit None Instruc±ons A±empt History Attempt Time Score Quiz (10): Turner/Zambia NOTE : A few more questions than usual in this week's quiz will require you to look up terms & concepts outside of the reading. This is intended to provide helpful background context for understanding where the author is coming from & why this essay is significant, as well as to clarify a few terms & concepts that may not be immediately understood. You may also find it helpful to read this brief bio of Edith Turner () & also this one about her husband Victor Turner () (who was a very famous & influential anthropologist. You will read about his work on "liminality" & rites of passage in Robbie Davis-Floyd next week.) ---------- Think of these quizzes more as exercises or study guides, rather than as "tests." The quizzes are " open, " in that there's nothing to keep you from referring back to the reading or videos, and in fact I encourage you to do so. There is also no time limit ( although there is a deadline). I recommend that before you start the quiz, you complete the readings & videos, and then go back through them as you complete the quiz, making note of key points & ideas in the quiz questions . After you complete the quiz , I also recommend that you take the time read through your results , whether you miss a question or not. I often plant little comments with more information & context that pop up after you've responded to & submitted a quiz. And for questions you may have missed, take a moment to review the correct answers & try to figure out what you misunderstood. Ask me if you are confused. READ the following while working your way through this quiz: READ: Edith Turner, "A Visible Spirit Form in Zambia."

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
