ADM2372 A - Case (extra) - Team 3 1. What is the frequency of the ETL process in this case? Do you think it is appropriate? Justify your answer. Through the WINet system, the ETL frequency is hourly. It records both customer and gaming information. It is used by various departments who require different data. Combined with Caesars’ customer rewards program, the hourly timing interval is appropriate, as it provides timely and accurate information that can be used to set up reservations, room upgrades, and even facilitate diamond-level customers to skip lineups. Moreover, the constantly-revised nature of the data being collected requires shorter ETL timeframes that allow Caesars to make time sensitive offers. Firstly, the data warehouse isolation and hourly updates do not impact the performance of individual customer-faced databases. Secondly, since the data warehouse contains databases that track customers’ arrival, winnings, losses, games played, and potential net worth; Caesars’ hourly-updated insights on how the customer’s night is going allows them to offer the customer timely offers such as room deals, tickets to shows, and cash. This enhances the customers stay as well as loyalty and allows the casino to make the most money. Thirdly, the short time interval benefits departments that go beyond marketing & CRM. For example, while finance and accounting departments don’t benefit from hourly updated information, they can take their own snapshots of the data at intervals to predict future trends and conduct other clustering and statistical analyses that suit the needs of the department.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
