REVIEWER IN EM-TECH COLLABORATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF ICT CONTENT TEAM STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS Team- a special instance of a group in which the commonality is a shared goal. Teams- group of people with specific roles and functions that are working together to address a common goal, and with specific roles or functions. Team structure composition of teams considered as less hierarchical, less structured, and more fluid than traditional structures. Consists of good and effective leader and members to perform their roles in teamwork Team Dynamics Unconscious, psychological forces that influence the direction of a team’s behavior or performance. Refers way team members work to achieve business success. Types of Team Structure Traditional - common in many organizations and involves established departments or areas that operate as functional teams regardless of the size of the company. Cross-Functional - involves temporary teams, composed of experts from various functional areas that are established to work on specific programs or projects. Self-Directed - involves a group of interdependent, highly trained employees who are responsible for managing themselves and the work they do. Virtual - work teams, composed of workers at various domestic or global locations. Technology has allowed companies to create virtual teams. Collaborative Environment Collaboration- process of two or more individuals or groups working together to accomplish their common goal successfully. Collaborative Team Environment- essential for the success of an organization. 3C collaboration model (proposed by Ellis, Gibbs, and Rein (1991), there are three viewpoints of collaboration: Communication. Coordination Cooperation ONLINE COLLABORATIVE TOOLS AND PROCESSES Online collaborative tool tool that allows group of people to communicate and collaborate over the Internet.
