2 CS324 Computer Architecture IMPORTANT TERMINOLOGY Process – An execution of a program (or Job or application). 3 CS324 Computer Architecture IMPORTANT TERMINOLOGY Multitasking – Refers to the ability of the OS to quickly switch between tasks (interleaved execution), giving the appearance of simultaneous execution of those tasks » multiple tasks/ processes running simultaneously by sharing CPU time. » At any point in time, the CPU is executing one task/process only while other tasks/processes are waiting for their turn. – For example, running MS Word, Media player, Web browser in Windows OS.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
