REPORT 1 I/ PLANT CELLS AND ANIMAL CELLS OBSERVATION 1/-Introduction: As a modern civilization, we have all known that living things are made up of cells. No matter what are their lifeforms or their types of organisms, any biological entities all exhibits their senses of living. During the long evolutionarily historical period, cells have varied in many different ways as biological forms of organisms are impressively various. In order to assume images of cells and comprehend them more easily that scientific experts and researchers observe cells under microscopes with different kinds of lens and compare them. In today class we will undergo the experiment that requires us to observe cells under microscopes. 2/- Procedure: ( just note down anything change compare with the lab manual instruction, otherwise do not need to write the procedure as lab manual) a) Plant cell (onion epidermis cells): - Remove a piece of an onion leaf and break it into haft and take the outer layer of the leaf. - Put the epidermis layer flat on the slide, add a drop of water/lugol solution then cover with a coverslip. - Put the sample on the stage, use microscope to observe details of cell’s structure with different magnifications (4x/10x/40x). b) Animal cell (human cheek cell epithelium): - Scrape inside of the cheek with the broad end of a toothpick.
