UNIT 2 JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT ("J2: Is Chivalry Dead?") 1. How can chivalry be defined in both cultures? Who is expected to be chivalric in each culture? Why is this so? What are the “unspoken rules” or expectations of chivalric duties in each culture? Is chivalry a fantasy in either culture or a reality? a. Chivalry was a code that knights from the past used to live by that code to help others and have courage, and honor. In today's society, we don't have a code of chivalry, nowadays people aren’t always going to want to help others. In our culture people like leaders and first responders are expected to be chivalric. While in the past knights were supposed to act chivalric for example when Sir Gawain steps up for King Arthur to fight (line 44). The unspoken rules in our society are to help others, be brave and show leadership. In the older times, the knights were to be brave and fight by rules. No, I feel like in both cultures chivalry is a reality maybe not under that name but with the same set of rules.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
