Gamification, which uses game design and models, will have a huge impact on information security. Sitting in a room, listening to lectures without hands on experience is not enough. Simulations like capture the flag and Red team Blue team and other information security scenarios provide great opportunities to test and build skill while providing real world situations. While this is not a new method for testing a person’s skills, airlines have been using simulations for years, cybersecurity threat simulations are in a unique position to be explored in the class room.
