Omosebi 1 Michael Held - Instructor English 102 June 13, 2018 Plagiarism: A Growing Concern What is the central message or thesis of the essays by Rivard, Tenner, Moore, Howard, and Gabriel? What evidence, list at least three examples, do the authors use to prove their theses? Are their arguments effective or do they prove their theses? The central thesis of all the assigned readings is that plagiarism is a growing concern in the academic community today. Its primarily cause is that students have greater access to learning material and essays. They can copy and paste information without giving credit to the original author. Students understand that they should not engage in plagiarism and are aware of the implications. However, sometimes, either deliberately or otherwise, they may copy material without citing it properly. This misconduct can lead to numerous problems, including expulsion, suspension, failure to get the required grade, and so on. The authors highlight all these issues and prove them to some extent. It is, however, wrong to assume that students may do so inadvertently. This issue almost never happens.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
