In this experiment, we were able to enumerate the microscoorganism used as a starter culture in food product of yogurt. The purpose of this experiment is to quantify the number of bacteria present in the yogurt. One of the major ways to do this is usin g viable plate counts, in which bacterial cells from a liquid culture are spread onto an agar plate. The plate is incubated then the number of colonies that grow on the plate are counted, and the number of original bacterial cells in the culture is determined. In most cases, however, the liquid culture being quantified contains too many cells to be directly plated onto agar plates and there would be so much growth that it would be

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
