F = ((A + B) + (A + B ) ) to one term with two literals iii. F = A B(D 0’ + C D) + B(A + A CD) to one literal iv. F = (X + Y )Z ( ZY’ + Z) to no literals Question 2 An engine has 4 fail-safe sensors (A, B, C and D). The engine should keep running, unless any of the following conditions arise: If sensor B is activated, If sensors A and C are activated at the same time, If sensors B and C are deactivated at the same time, If sensors A, C and D are activated at the same time, i. Derive a Switching Algebra equation for this system, where the output is called X. ii. Minimize the equation obtained in part i), using theorems of Switching Algebra. Your answer must indicate any theorems used for each minimization step.
