(Starting salary) (Position Grade: FP-7) **Ordinarily Resident (OR): US$18,184 p.a. (Starting salary) (Position Grade: FSN-7) NOTE: ALL ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBER (EFM) applicants (see Appendix for definition) DO NOT HAVE TO BE RESIDING IN COUNTRY TO BE CONSIDERED, BUT THE SPONSORING OFFICER UNDER COM AUTHORITY DOES HAVE TO BE OFFICIALLY ASSIGNED TO POST. The U.S. Mission in Panama is seeking one eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Cultural Assistant (Translator) in the Public Affairs Section. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Cultural Affairs Specialist and co-manages arts and other cultural programming. As needed, will back-up the Cultural Specialist. A copy of the complete position description listing all duties and responsibilities is available on the Human Resources website : QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED NOTE: Although some of the information below has been provided in your application, all applicants must still address each qualification/requirement listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item, on a separate sheet of paper. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified. 1. Education: A university degree in the fields of languages, social communication, business, marketing, liberal arts, international affairs or journalism is required. 2. Experience: Two years of progressively responsible experience in education, event management, social media, marketing, cultural activities, university teaching or related fields is required. 1. Language: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Spanish language is required. Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English language is required. (Testing will be conducted to determine the qualifications) 1. Job Knowledge : Basic knowledge of U.S. and country’s political, economic, cultural structures is required. Knowledge of programming venues, alternatives and techniques is required. (Testing may be conducted to determine the qualifications) 5. Computer Skills: Good knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer is required. (Testing may be conducted to determine the qualifications)

6. Skills and Abilities: Ability to deal with a wide range of contacts in the cultural word. Ability to draft correspondence and memoranda. Typing skills are required.
