Both the narratives written were told from the viewpoints of what use to be the uneducated and their experience with education and how he came about. In Frederick Douglass’s beginning, he was a slave who didn’t know how to write or read. But as time progressed he kept persisting just as Malcom X did. Where they are the same is that they both faced the same amount of struggle throughout their entire lives. They both felt as if they were outcasts among millions and millions and they were sick and tired of being known as these outcasts. Frederick Douglass was a slave, Malcom X was a prisoner but the times they grew up in were the same, a time of racism. The significance of education to Frederick is that he justifies education as being a priority among anything else and that life is missed without it. These two have faced hardships
