A: The query optimizer examines the SQL query and decides what the most efficient execution path is to get the data. The main purpose of this is to speed up query performance. 8. Answer: No. Mass Media is there to get you excited about new technologies and their possibilities. They are not there to tell you what works and what doesn’t. 11. 12. What are the different types of NoSQL databases that we covered? Answer: Document, graph, Key-Value, Tabular, Columnar 13. What is Data Modeling? Answer: An attempt to model reality inside a database. 14. What is the difference between Logical and Physical Data Models? Answer: Logical Models are focused on capturing the business inside a data model. Physical models are focused on implementing the logical model inside a particular DBMS. 15. What is the proper historical sequence of architectures? Answer: Mainframe -> Client/Server -> N-Tier -> MPP -> Cloud -> Hadoop 16. When should you NOT use a DBMS? Answer: When DBMS overhead is not acceptable . 17. When you first sit down to design a database, the first thing you should talk about is the technology you are going to use. Answer: False 18.
