Sense – meaning of words, images and symbols – kahulugan Diction – denotative and connotative meaning *denotative- literal meaning (D-dictionary) *connotative- a word or phrase is the associated or secondary meaning Images and sense impression – sight, sound, smell, touch, motion and emotion *appeals w/ 5 senses. Sound – result of combination of elements Tone color – alliteration, assonance, consonance, rhyme, repetition, anaphora *a lliteration is repetition of beginning sounds (Fred fried frogs) * assonance is a repetition of vowel sound (I don’t know what’s going on) * consonance (the lumpy dumpy road) * rhyme - correspondence of sound between words or the endings of words, especially when these are used at the ends of lines of poetry. (moon and soon) Repetition is a literary device that repeats the same words or phrases a few times to make an idea clearer and more memorable. Anaphora words repeat at the beginning of successive clauses, phrases, or sentences . (you are pretty. You are chubby) Rhythm – ordered recurrent alteration of strong and weak elements in the flow of the sound and silence * Diin ng mga salita.
