ET181 Lab p.3 Lab and Lab-Grade Policies 1. A lab manual is required and no loose sheet is accepted. 2. Your TAs will keep your group lab manuals for the entire semester and bring them to each lab. If you keep your lab manual "by mistake," your TA will give 0 point for a lab exercise. 3. If you are unable to attend your lab session, you will need a permission slip from your Professor for a make-up session when other students are still doing the same lab exercise. You will then submit the permission slip to a TA of the make-up session in exchange for your lab manual. You are allowed to attend up to few make-up sessions/semester before the flowing grade deduction scheme is applied. # Make up 0-2 3-4 5-6 7 Total lab grade deduction (%) 0 25 50 75 4. An official excuse allows you to have a make-up session, not to skip it. A student who skips labs will receive 0 point for those skipped sessions. 5. Lab attendance will be randomly checked during the semester and attendance bonus points will be added to your exam score. The bonus points will be awarded to: A student who comes to his/her registered lab session on time. A student who attends a make-up lab session with permission slip from your Professor. There will be no exception to this rule. 6. Each lab exercise counts for 100 points: 80 points for completion of workpiece and 20 points for answers to the follow-up questions. 20 points are deducted for obviously wrong workpiece. 10 points are deducted for poor workmanship or incomplete workpiece. You will get 0 point if "forget" to submit the workpiece or answer questions at the end of your lab session. There is no exception to this rule.
