Name_________________________________________ AP Calculus BC Summer Assignment 2018 This is your optional summer assignment. It covers topics that you learned in Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Functions. Please be sure to show all of your work even if you can do some or all of it in your head. You are NOT allowed to use a calculator for the problems unless there is a C next to the problem. Bring this assignment with you on the first day of class. The answers will be given to you via SLMS. We will not go over this assignment in class, but you are welcome to ask any and all questions after school! You will have a test on all the material covered in this packet the second week of school. **You must come to AP Calculus BC with a firm grasp of limits, continuity, and derivatives. We will only briefly go through these topics during the first week of school. You are expected to come to class on the first day and be able to take derivatives of the following: polynomials, all six trigonometric functions, logarithmic functions, exponential functions, composite functions (chain rule), rational functions (quotient rule), and products of any combination of any of the previous functions.** Write the equation of the line through the two points in point slope form. 1. (9, 5), (3,5) 2. (4, -1), (2, 3) Write an equation of the line through P that is a)parallel to L, b) perpendicular to L in point slop form. 3. P(1,2); L: y = -x + 2 4. P(-1, 3); L: 2x+y = 4 For the following functions, a) find the domain, b) find the range, and c) sketch the graph.
