THE PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING IN COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH As a teacher you must promote learning by doing or practicing, in order for learners for learners to speak the language they must do so by speaking the language with each other including family members. A teacher must make sure that students can integrate the language, speak it, write it, read it and be able to listen to what’s been said. The language should come naturally to learners and they can speak it fluently. The aim of the communicative approach is centred around the students and their communication skills with the world around them. b. THE ROLE OF A TEACHER IN COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH A teacher must meet needs of students individually. Not everyone in the class can capture the information the same, some students are slow while others are fast. A teacher must act as an organiser o f knowledge . He should come up with activities and guide them to the answer. And monitor language usage in the classroom. A teacher must always encourage communication, whether in formal or informal setting. This can be done in group work, plays and drama plays. The teacher must give learners activities tahst will make them confident to face real life situations. Try and make the learner improve their proficiency in the language. A teacher must make the environment easy for students to learn. The place must be ventilated and have light. 1.2 THE IMPORTANCE OF WORD PLAY AS A TECHING ACTIVITY It teaches students to consult a dictionary to see different meanings of words. It teaches students a power of teaching words wisely. It teaches students different pronunciations. It increases student’s vocabulary. PLANNING FOR WORD PLAY ACTICTIVITIES

Give them a poem to identify rhyming activities. Give them words and ask them to supply the educator wit rhyming word to the one given. 1.3 THE VALUE OF GROUP AND PAIE WORK IN LANGUAGE CLASSROOM. When given a topic the students are able to share ideas and opinions, this helps other students to understand more of the work and have different ideas of the topic. This makes it easier for students to talk to each other and be able to work comfortably around each other. When the students are in groupd sharing the ideas they use a common language which is the language that’s been taught. Students challenge each other mentally. Group work promotes team work and strong relation amongst them. QUESTION 2 2.1 USING ICT TOOLS TO IMPROVE LEARNING MY LANGUAGE LESSON SPEAKING- Learners can record themselves when they are speaking on the audio option. This can help them master the pronunciation. They can also download videos and listen to the videos for them to listen to pronunciation and different accents.
