Hackensack High School Pre-AP English 1 Jane Elliott’s The Angry Eye (Response Questions) Due Date: October 5, 2016 1. Identify the students who resist Jane Elliott’s treatment. How do they challenge her and why are they unsuccessful? The students who resisted were two white females. At first, the white female decides to argue with Jane because she did not have a paper and pencil. Jane starts questioning the female and the female breaks down. The female wanted to have the last word, yet Jane showed her she really was a minority in this experiment, and had no power. The other white female, decided to do things her own way, rebelling against Jane’s commands. She raised her hand, when she wasnt asked for an opinion. However, after being told many times she is not allowed to speak, she continously does it anyways and breaks down. She breaks down because two other students were being yelled at for standing out. Finally, the white female figures it is too much for her to handle and exits the room immediately, leaving the experiment behind.
