Why can some viruses/bacteria cross the placenta wall and other cant? 2. What are some of the most life-threatening viruses that could be passed from mother to baby? And what are the birth defects associated. 3. Are there any genetic factors that are associated with higher chance for poor placenta function? 4. Is it possible for a fetus to develop if the placenta does not? Maybe a ectopic pregnancy? 5. Is there any scientific benefit to consuming your placenta? Or is this a social fad?
