Brittany Morgan09/8/19Impact of Family CriminalityCrime occurs every single day, and in certain areas happen more than others. We need to figure out how to break this cycle. Children learn from their parents’ actions, and if their parents commit a crime then the child thinks it is okay as well. A child will watch and learn the criminal ways from their parents’ and think that is how life is. Children does not know right from wrong unless you teach them. Parents who have children should want to break the cycle of doing bad to make sure their child learns the correct way of life. Lauren Feig from The University of Chicago quotes from The Osborne Association, “the greatest threat to a child’s well-being is a parent incarceration” (Feig, 2015, Breaking Through the Cycle) If a child grows up in an environment full of drugs and violence, then that child will develop the mentality of drugs and violence.
