MODULE 1: LESSON 3 ASSIGNMENT Investigation 11A: Move fast! Reflex Responses Analysis 1. Pupillary reflex : The stimulus is, for example, very bright sunlight, when the human eye looks at the very bright sunlight, a message is sent to the central nervous system, telling the central nervous system that the light is too bright for the eye and may cause damage. Then, the central nervous system sends a message to the pupils for the pupils to constrict, which allows less light to get into the eyes, preventing further damage to the eyes. Blink reflex: The stimulus could be something such as a dodgeball being thrown at a person's face, when the person notices the dodge ball being thrown at them, there is a high chance that they will blink, which is a message sent to the muscles surrounding the eye by the central nervous system, indicating that they have noticed the coming threat and may or may not react to it depending on the situation. Patellar reflex: The stimulus would be something such as a hit on the patellar tendon by a hammer, sensory neurons since the stimulus and send a message to the central nervous system, which sends a message to the motor neurons that move the leg.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
