Lecture #3 Professional Exercise Physiology What is Kinesiology? Kinesiology is the researched and systematic study of human movement . It is that field of academic inquiry concerned with understanding how and why people move and the factors that limit and enhance our capacity to move. The unique focus of the field of Kinesiology is on human movement .

The emphases within disciplines and professions are often characterized as theory / research versus application / practice but such a distinction is overly simplistic and potentially misleading.
