2 RIGHTS THEORY Rights Theory: A Reflection of Business Ethics and The Coca-Cola Company In this paper I will be reflecting the beliefs of the Coca-Cola Company to the chapter one outcomes explained by Mick Fryer in the book Ethics Theory and Business Practice. Political, Social, and Cultural Rights are greatly discussed by Fryer in terms of business ethics. Relating these three rights back to The Coca-Cola company has made this company’s objectives clear. The company’s new Human Rights Policy was put out on December 11, 2017. As Fryer states in the reading, a good way of pointing out political rights is with the use of common words such as freedom, justice, equality, etc. and is often related to a corporation’s power. (Fryer, 2015, p.19). Directly from the company’s Human Rights Policy, “reflects respect for human rights and is free from all discrimination and harassment” (The Coca-Cola Company Human Rights Policy, p. 2). Social rights are those rights relating to basic human needs such as the right to food, water, shelter, education, health, and leisure (Fryer, 2015, p.21). The company makes it clear in their policy that they take these into consideration. “We engage with communities on human rights matters that are
